Rally - Privacy Policy

Who we are

Rally is a group trip planning app. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email Socialmediachannels@outlook.com and a human will reply.

What we collect

Account details — your name, email address, and the city you usually fly from.
Trip planning data — trip details you enter (destination preferences, budget, travel vibes, the dates you're available) and your votes on destinations.
Error reports — if something breaks in the app, we record the page, the error message, your browser type, and (if you're signed in) your email so we can investigate and fix it.
Anonymous usage events — to see where groups get stuck (for example, how many people open an invite but don't finish joining), we record a few plain events like "trip created" or "voting opened", along with the page and the trip's id. These carry a random, per-visit id that isn't stored across sessions and isn't tied to your account — no name or email, so they can't identify you.

What we don't do

No advertising and no selling or renting your data to anyone.
No third-party analytics or tracking scripts — no ad pixels, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Our own usage measurement (above) is first-party and anonymous.
No marketing email unless you explicitly opted in at sign-up — and you can opt out anytime by emailing us.

What other people can see

Rally is built for planning trips together, so the people in your trip can see your name, departure city, availability, and preferences. Your individual votes are visible to the group unless the organiser enables secret ballot. Anyone who has your trip's invite link can view the trip's details and join it — share invite links only with people you want in the trip.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Sign-in emails (codes and magic links) are sent through Supabase's auth service. Some data (like draft trips and unsaved votes) is kept temporarily in your own browser's storage until it's saved.

How long we keep it

Trip data lives as long as the trip does — when you leave a trip or an organiser deletes one, its votes, availability, and member records are deleted with it. Error reports and anonymous usage events are kept only as long as needed to diagnose problems and understand how the app is used. To delete your account and everything tied to it, email us and we'll take care of it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Socialmediachannels@outlook.com for any of these. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

Rally is in beta, so this policy will evolve as the product does. We'll update this page and the date at the top whenever it changes in a way that matters.
